And (We sent) messengers We have mentioned to you before and messengers we have not mentioned to you and to Musa, Allah addressed His Word, speaking (to him): Surely We have revealed to you as We revealed to Nuh, and the prophets after him, and We revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the tribes, and Isa and Ayub and Yunus and Haroun and Sulaiman and We gave to Dawood Psalms. And it is not attributable to a prophet that he should act unfaithfully and he who acts unfaithfully shall bring that in respect of which he has acted unfaithfully on the day of resurrection then shall every soul be paid back fully what it has earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly ![]() Whoever therefore turns back after this, these it is that are the transgressors. He said: Then bear witness, and I (too) am of the bearers of witness with you. He said: Do you affirm and accept My compact in this (matter)? They said: We do affirm. And when Allah made a covenant through the prophets: Certainly what I have given you of Book and wisdom, then an messenger comes to you verifying that which is with you, you must believe in him, and you must aid him. And neither would he enjoin you that you should take the angels and the prophets for lords what! Would he enjoin you with unbelief after you are Muslims? It is not meet for a mortal that Allah should give him the Book and the wisdom and prophet-hood, then he should say to men: Be my servants rather than Allah's but rather (he would say): Be worshippers of the Lord because of your teaching the Book and your reading (it yourselves). Offspring one of the other and Allah is Hearing, Knowing. ![]() Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of Ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations. The messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers they all believe in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers We make no difference between any of His messengers and they say: We hear and obey, our Lord! Thy forgiveness (do we crave), and to Thee is the eventual course. And if Allah had pleased, those after them would not have fought one with another after clear arguments had come to them, but they disagreed so there were some of them who believed and others who denied and if Allah had pleased they would not have fought one with another, but Allah brings about what He intends. We have made some of these messengers to excel the others among them are they to whom Allah spoke, and some of them He exalted by (many degrees of) rank and We gave clear miracles to Isa son of Maryam, and strengthened him with the holy spirit. (All) people are a single nation so Allah raised prophets as bearers of good news and as warners, and He revealed with them the Book with truth, that it might judge between people in that in which they differed and none but the very people who were given it differed about it after clear arguments had come to them, revolting among themselves so Allah has guided by His will those who believe to the truth about which they differed and Allah guides whom He pleases to the right path. And when there came to them a Messenger from Allah verifying that which they have, a party of those who were given the Book threw the Book of Allah behind their backs as if they knew nothing. ![]() And when there came to them a Book from Allah verifying that which they have, and aforetime they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieve, but when there came to them (Prophet) that which they did not recognize, they disbelieved in him so Allah's curse is on the unbelievers. And most certainly We gave Musa the Book and We sent messengers after him one after another and We gave Isa, the son of Maryam, clear arguments and strengthened him with the holy spirit, What! Whenever then a messenger came to you with that which your souls did not desire, you were insolent so you called some liars and some you slew.
